The Port Authority plans and implements the works needed for the carrying out of the activities related to maritime goods traffic and interchange between transport modes.
In like manner, it organises the uses of the Port’s service zones and manages port public domain through the granting of concessions and authorisations, applying profitability and efficiency criteria.
It fixes commercial services and collects for the use of port facilities. The Port Authority can also decide whether it should participate in companies.
The Port Authority develops the plan for the General Regulations of Service and Port Police, among whose points figure supervision of admission, handling and storage of dangerous goods.
The port authority is an organization that is a member of the State Ports Public Organization, and whose functions are set out by Law.
